Comets Track Does Very Well at Selby Meet

The Hanover-Horton track team did exceptionally well at the Selby meet which takes the top competitors from Jackson area schools. Baseball/Softball/Soccer End Seasons

Both the Hanover-Horton baseball and softball team lost in pre-district games Tuesday. The baseball team fell to Homer 11-1  to finish season at 13-11.  Softball lost to Hillsdale 4-2 and finished season 12-14. Girls soccer also ended their season falling to Lumen Christi 5-0. Golf Team Wins Conference Tournament

The Hanover-Horton golf team won the Cascades Conference tournament at Sharpe Park on Thursday. The Comets shot a 325, defeating Napoleon by 9 strokes and claiming a tie as conference champion with Napoleon. Jack Brockie was the medalist. Also earning all-conference (lowest 8 scores) were Brogan Brockie and Kyler Rod. Joe Vann was honorable mention.

Girls Soccer Advances

The Hanover-Horton girls soccer team defeated Grass Lake in a shoot-out to advance to the district semi-finals. They will face Lumen Christi next Wednesday at Adrian Lenawee Christian at 5:00 in the district semi-finals.

Mortimer, Laketa, and Laketa Earn Honors

Hanover-Horton Comets men’s basketball coach Chad Mortimer was named region 4  Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.  This award is given to one coach per region regardless of divisions. Luke and Rhett Laketa were both named to the BCAM Division 3 “Best Players” Jack Brockie was honorable mention “best Players”.

MS Girls Track Competes at Saline

The Hanover-Horton girls team traveled to Saline on Wednesday to compete against some really tough competition and set several PR’s! Medals winners include: Ally Beneke was 1st in high jump, Aly Ackley 6th.  Mayson Scally was 3rd in pole vault and Tracy Ackley was 3rd in shot put.  The 4×800 team of Sophie Reynolds, Ava
