Hanover-Horton boys basketball team was missing a key component Wednesday as Rhett Laketa was feeling poorly and stayed home but the Comets still came away with an impressive 85-38 victory over East Jackson. The Comets held East Jackson to 26% shooting from the floor and several Comets filled in nicely to help a balanced scoring attack. The Comets also dominated the boards with a 42-24 advantage and they moved the ball tremendously and had assists on 21 of 27 made field goals.
Luc Laketa led all scores with 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Conner Mortimer had 10 points and 5 assists. Bryce Sanders 9 points, Carson Sanders 8, Brogan Brockie , Trent Finegan, Jack Brockie, and Mitch Sauber each had 6 points, Garrett Gumper 4, Damon Preston 3, Evan Keeder 2, and Kylor Rod 2 points for the Comets.
The JV team also cruised to an impressive victory over EJ winning 69-24.
The Comets visit second place Grass Lake on Friday with a chance to take a stran glehold on the conference lead.
