The Hanover-Horton Comets celebrated homecoming with a 56-0 victory over Vandercook Lake. The Comets jumped out to a 28-0 1st quarter advantage and never looked back. Trent Hocter paced the Comets with 220 yards rushing, 5 for 5 in extra points, 4 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Garrett Gumper added 99 yards rushing and 49 yards passing. Gumper scored one TD on the ground and two in the air. Randy Frailey had 90 yards rushing and 2 TD’s. Gabe French, William Dick, Griffin Fedore also scored TD’s. York Bahlau had a long TD called back. Clay Sheffield was 3 for 3 in extra points. Devon Mohr paced the defense with 11 tackles and Jack Burmis had 3 tackles for loss.
The Comets are 4-4 on the season and will play Concord, again, in the crossover game at Hanover-Horton next Friday.
